ABB - VMS - Prefab all-in-one solution for switchgear and distribution systems

New milestone in simplicity and installation safety

Flexibility and installation speed are the two themes that keep recurring in daily practice. Themes that determine the ease and speed with which projects are implemented and completed. ABB's VMS series of enclosures seamlessly links up with these themes. The cabinets can be supplied as a prefabricated all-in-one solution for switchgear and power distribution systems.

Wide application range

VMS is a complete range of modular enclosures made of glass-fibre reinforced polycarbonate. This makes the enclosures not only lighter but also more corrosion-resistant than sheet steel variants. Combined with excellent protection against moisture and dust, the VMS series therefore lends itself to a wide range of application areas. And thanks to the modular concept, enclosures can be combined with each other to meet a wide range of installation requirements. The enclosures can be used for the following applications:

  • Production
  • Motor control equipment
  • Electronic instrument boxes
  • Low-voltage distribution equipment
  • Industrial building and utilities
  • Public works

Modular solution

The VMS modules can be flexibly combined as building blocks to create a customised distribution system. Thanks to the prefabricated design, they are even 20 percent faster than other cabinets. The result? Lower costs and shorter project lead times. The modules also offer maximum freedom for future expansions. So the cabinets can grow effortlessly as the company develops.

All-in-one solution

VMS cabinets can be supplied completely prefabricated. Cabinets and dispensers come together in an all-in-one solution. Free software that also generates product lists and drawings can be used to select and assemble the cabinet. The cabinets meet high safety standards and offer optimum protection for people and equipment thanks to total insulation and IP65 protection degree. VMS modules are tested so that only routine verification is required. Discover the simplicity and installation safety of this all-in-one solution and attend one of the free training courses ‘prefabricated VMS cabinets for switchgear and distribution systems’.
