ABB - AF magnetic switches combine energy efficiency with high reliability
The advanced technology of the AF magnetic switches bridges voltage dips and peaks, ensuring that the magnetic switch continues to function consistently and reliably. This prevents downtime and guarantees the continuity of business processes. The integrated overvoltage protection also eliminates the need for external protection, saving space and costs and ensuring clarity in the control cabinet.
Four coil voltages and wide voltage range
The AF magnetic switch is available in four different coil voltages that cover all standard mains voltages: from 24 V to 500 V AC and from 20 V to 500 V DC. This provides extra flexibility and convenience for installers, OEMs and panel builders working on various projects or operating internationally. And with only four coils, logistics, storage and administration are also further simplified.
Sustainable and energy-efficient
The coils of the switches consume up to 80% less energy. This leads to lower energy costs and a smaller ecological footprint. With the AF magnetic switches, ABB underlines its commitment to sustainable solutions without compromising on performance or reliability. The series has an EPD and carries the ABB EcoSolutions™ label. This provides complete transparency about circularity and environmental impact.
Ease of installation and speed of installation
Accessories are quick and easy to install thanks to snap-on technology. This speeds up installation and reduces the time needed to complete projects. For added ease of use, the AF magnetic switch is also available with push-in technology.
Wide range of applications
The AF magnetic switches are part of a wide range of products. The series of motor protection devices includes thermal and electronic overcurrent relays and motor starters. ABB not only offers high-quality products but also all the necessary ingredients for total solutions.

Eneco - Green light for green electricity and steamRead moreEneco Bio Golden Raand, located in the port area of Delfzijl, converts biomass into green electricity and green steam. Each year, the plant processes approximately 300,000 tons of waste wood from the Netherlands and neighboring countries. As part of Eneco’s climate ambitions, a project began in 2022 to replace the existing fluorescent lighting in and around the boiler room. The project was carried out under the supervision of itsme. “Two factors were important in this process: the cost, of course, but also the level of service.”
