Webinar ATEX

On 1 March, itsme organised a webinar on explosion safety. ATEX expert Arthur Rooze discussed your role in explosion safety: from manufacturer to user, he refreshed their ATEX knowledge and covered pitfalls based on examples. Watch the webinar back now!

"Liever de lucht in" - translated as: "Then rather the sky!" - is what is said Lieutenant Commander Van Speijk (1802-1831) to have shouted as he stuck a burning cigar in the powder keg. Today, the powder room of his gunboat would be labeled an "ATmosphère EXplosible," an ATEX zone. In other words, an explosive environment, forbidden to people with burning cigars. Unlike Van Speijk, we do everything we can to prevent explosions, and make sure we don't go airborne.

But, what is everything? The legal requirements are not the same for every employer. Therefore, it is important for you to know exactly what is required of your company in this area. Among other things, we covered the two ATEX directives: 114 (on the safety of equipment and products) and 153 (on worker safety).

We held our webinar on explosion safety in cooperation with our partners Schuch, Stahl and 3M. The host was Peter Wolfs, branch manager of itsme Venlo and Maastricht. Arthur Rooze, the speaker, has more than 25 years of experience in explosion safety. He was ready to answer all possible questions about ATEX.

Watch the recording of this webinar and get to know the possibilities for (mandatory) prevention, including required time, people and products, so that you can make a good trade-off between investment and safety.
