FactoryScan

Prevention is better than standing still.

Unpleasant surprises and uncertainties can be avoided if the installed base, the installed equipment, is clearly mapped out. How to do this? Quite simply, with itsme's FactoryScan.

The FactoryScan consists of four phases:

  1. Intake interview
  2. Inventory
  3. Determining product life phases
  4. Consultation and advice

1. Intake interview

We take a global look at the situation with you and estimate the time and costs involved in the itsme FactoryScan.

2. Inventory

The itsme Industrial Automation experts take stock of the electrical (and possibly mechanical) components of an installation at your site. This can be done in various ways. For example, the data can be collected by reading out a PLC or CPU. But they can also be extracted from software, or from an existing Excel file with article numbers.

3. Determining product life phases

Next, we determine the stage of their life cycle for all those components. This data serves as the basis for a technical report that clearly indicates the urgency and nature of the necessary follow-up steps. Items that, for example, are no longer normally available and can be repaired or replaced to a limited extent are marked in red.

Detail from a report. Red is Not Available; yellow is Limited Availability; green is Sufficiently Available.

Customization

Every factory is different and therefore every FactoryScan is by definition customised. Even the reporting does not have to be standard. Should the data of all components examined be brought together in one document? Or would you prefer a separate document for each part of the scanned site? No problem, the choice is yours.

4. Consultation and advice

Once the situation has been identified and recorded in the report, we consult with you about the next steps to be taken. Based on the scan, itsme can provide clear advice on this. For example, you may prefer to replace only those components that urgently need to be replaced first and the others later. Using the report as a guide, itsme can determine the best replacement strategy in consultation with you and help you implement it. We can of course supply the replacement products, but also provide the necessary training and support with any migration and re-engineering.

Costs FactoryScan

And the costs are negligible, especially when measured against the cost of potential downtime. Downtime costs easily amount to a few thousand euros per hour. The FactoryScan of primary components has a starting rate of €75. For travel time, we charge €50 per hour; for the scan and processing, €95 per hour.

‘Green’ solutions

If the scan is done and 'red' components need to be replaced by 'green' ones, they can even become extra green. Indeed, when looking for alternatives to over-aged components, itsme will always offer the greener, more sustainable, future-proof solution.

The FactoryScan is one of the ways itsme puts itsme's money where itsme's mouth is: 'Making you succeed'!

    Fluke - 1736 three-phase Power Logger
Today, we are increasingly faced with the need to optimise energy flows, find energy-efficient solutions for large consumers and bring down overall energy consumption. Saving on electrical consumption is therefore one of the topics high on companies' agendas. One of the first tasks in this process is to identify large consumers and try to minimise extra losses due to harmonics, imbalance, ... try to minimise them. For this, the Fluke-1736 is an ideal combination that allows not only to map electrical power flow, but also problems with harmonics, imbalance, mapping. This is therefore usually the first step to start improvement processes.
