With itsme, stockless production gets ever closer to becoming a reality for CSi

Goals
A few years ago, CSi decided to make the switch to stockless production in order to increase its Return on Investment (ROI). CSi can realise this with the help of the Integrated Logistic Supplier (ILS) project, which consists of four focus areas:
- appoint a Key Supplier;
- apply product alignment;
- automate data traffic;
- set up a VMI system.
Actions
With itsme as its Key Supplier, CSi has one point of contact, unequivocal payment settlements, uniform entry of materials and use of itsme’s stock. The products that CSi uses for its production in the Netherlands, as well as in Romania, have been standardised. This simplifies the purchasing process and using the “cradle- to-grave” principle CSi can keep supporting its customers logistically during the life cycle of the machine.
The number of stock items has been reduced and all items can be delivered within 9 days in both countries. Thanks to this product standardisation, testing in the Netherlands before production in Romania has become possible. Links were made between the engineering and purchasing systems of CSi using itsme’s SAP system, allowing CSi to produce more efficiently. In the Netherlands, CSi has an itsme scanner, so that it can manage the grab stock itself during peak consumption, and purchase orders are automated.
