Phoenix Contact - CONTACTRON speed starter
Flexible and energy efficient - in the application for your motors
Simple operating concept - efficiency in the most confined space
Frequency inverters are often used in applications where, for example, variable speed is used or where the starting and stopping of the motor must be controlled. In operation, the CONTACTRON speed starter combines the advantages of a compact motor starter with the essential features of a frequency converter for numerous applications:
- Simple and intuitive operation via display, rotary knob and control knob. No lengthy parameterization is required.
- Space saving in the control cabinet due to the compact design from a construction width of 35 mm.
- Cost-effective component management thanks to the focus on the essential functions for many applications in drive engineering
Connecting, setting, starting: why complicate things when motor control can also be simple?
The CONTACTRON speed starter helps you implement control tasks for motors simply and cost-effectively, especially in intralogistics and conveyor technology, in areas such as mechanical engineering, automotive or the food industry.
Safety first - Safe Torque Off function
The integrated safety function enables use in safety-relevant emergency stop applications, completely without additional protective circuitry. Safe Torque Off or STO (Safe Torque Off) ensures that your motor no longer receives energy to turn. As a result, no torque can be activated after shutdown.
Want to maximize the efficiency and safety of your installation?
By immediately disabling the tightening torque of motors, the STO functionality enables quick and safe intervention in emergencies or unforeseen events in your installation. This not only minimizes downtime, but also prevents potential accidents and injuries and creates a safe working environment.

Phoenix Contact - Increase cybersecurity of machines and installationsRead moreThe benefits of network connectivity, such as increased productivity and flexibility, are obvious. But unfortunately, this also creates more and more potential attack targets for all kinds of cyber attacks. Cybercriminals repeatedly manage to exploit new vulnerabilities to gain unauthorised access to machines and facilities, for example. That is why governments are introducing new (additional) cyber security legislation. In doing so, they set ambitious goals.

Phoenix Contact - IEC 62443: Cyber Security for Automation SystemsRead moreThe industrial automation landscape is changing and is increasingly driven by data and connectivity. With this, Cyber Security is also becoming increasingly important, both because we want it ourselves and because the government is calling us to do so. Indeed, the upcoming European directive on network and information security also imposes obligations on normal commercial and industrial companies.

Grip on your production processRead moreAlthough the provisioning of care homes is often well organised, on the flip side there is sometimes still room for improvement, especially where hygiene processes are concerned. With that in mind, Jop van Haaren, director and owner of Less2Care from Raalte, set out to work ten years ago. The result? The VacuSan: an automated solution for the safe vacuum sealing and disposal of used incontinence materials. The electronic parts of the operating system are delivered as a kit – a customer-specific package – by itsme. “As a customer you don’t need to worry about it anymore.”

Sustainable from top to bottomRead moreOn the outskirts of Hengelo-Zuid tons of waste are given a new purpose each year. Through incineration, separation and composting, energy and raw materials are extracted and find their way back to society. With the heat that is released during incineration, Twence generates enough power to provide half of all households in the Twente \(region in the Eastern Netherlands\) with electricity. In order to guarantee the continuity of all the plants, operators carry out regular inspection rounds in the installations, so good visibility is important. In switching from fluorescent lighting to LED, Twence enlisted the help of itsme.
