Eaton - Maximum functionality on a minimal footprint: new generation of XC204 modular PLCs

For small and medium-sized applications

Eaton's new generation of XC204 modular PLCs offers maximum functionality on a minimal footprint of 104 x 29 x 80 mm. The PLC is a flexible solution for standard automation tasks such as control and regulation functions. It comes into its own perfectly in small to medium-sized applications in serial machine and system construction. Different versions of the XC204 ensure that every machine or process automation engineer is assured of a suitable solution for his or her specific challenge.

Key specifications:

  • Programmable with CODESYS 3
  • 100 Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces with own network adapter, standard serial interfaces, USB host, 2 digital inputs/outputs
  • Modbus TCP client/server, OPC-UA server, Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, CANopen, Modbus RTU, RS485
  • Remote web visualisation thanks to HTML5 standard
  •  Pluggable connections (Push-in & Plug-in)
  •  Compact design, tool-free mounting

The local I/O of the XC-204 can be expanded up to 16 I/O modules of the modular XN300 system. Separate Ethernet interfaces and additional standard serial interfaces allow use in different system architectures. As a result, the XC200 acts as the universal control and communication point within a networked system. External I/O units (XN300) and third-party devices can be easily integrated.

The XC204 is designed according to Eaton's 'secure-by-design' concept. Eaton implements the latest technology standards in communication and security.

Avebe - A Good Night’s Sleep Thanks to FactoryScan
Companies often have no clear idea of the installed base of industrial automation in their factories and warehouses. With FactoryScan, itsme can provide an overview of the current status of automation components such as PLCs. Potato processor Royal Avebe uses the results to update their component stock and assess future availability. The scan is intended to reduce the number of hardware-related disruptions Process Control Engineer Johan Wierenga has to deal with. It also helps him sleep better, knowing the stock is up to date.
